The Halton Learning Centre is a private school that is registered and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Since 1997, the centre has provided its students with an array of educational services that include (but are not limited to): tutoring, high school credit courses, course upgrades, advice regarding University registration, Educational assessments and complete Psycho-educational assessments, GED, SAT and SSAT preparation. The HLC distinguishes itself from other similar institutions with its unique approach to education, applying the "whole student" approach in its instruction, in addition to individual planning for its students. In order to apply this approach, the HLC works closely with specialists in the areas of: Special Education, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists, as well as professionals in a number of other fields, in order to better ensure that the student obtains the required accommodations and stimulation in the classroom. The centre can also provide assistive technology to its students through the services of its OT. In order to maximize the attention given to its students, the HLC provides instruction only on a-one-to one basis (with the exception of its summer school credit program). The HLC’s Burlington location is managed by Dr. Ronnie Miller; an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate educator. With the assistance of his wife Beverly, a Special Education Specialist with the Halton Board of Education, Dr. Miller and his team strive to provide an enriched environment in which students can thrive. The HLC’s Ancaster-Dundas location is managed by Mr. Jordan Rakowski, B.Eng. He has worked closely with Dr. Miller at the Burlington location at all levels – from tutoring, to instructing credit courses, and to administration. His team at the Ancaster location is pleased to provide accessible educational support for students of all levels. The Halton Learning Centre is not a franchise; both locations are privately owned and operated by professional educators. With us, education comes first. |
